Barbara has roots both in Italy, through her mother, and Japan, through her father, as well as the U.S., as she was raised in Los Angeles, California.

After marrying a Japanese businessman, Barbara moved to Kagoshima, Japan in 1984. There, her experiences include: owner of a sports/health club, dance school, English school, and a women's personal development center, television show commentator, and events promoter.

Barbara currently tours as a lecturer and motivational speaker. She has given over 1000 lectures, seminars, workshops, employees training, in the areas of communication, positive living, health, family life, goal setting, image training and happiness.
